Hey everyone, Tom here, and I wanted to talk to you about just one gorgeous boot in this article. Buffalo boots men as a lot of people search for it online or men’s buffalo leather boots so to speak. This isn’t so much a review and I’m not gonna pepper the article with five or six different boots. I just wanted to talk about one boot by Lucchese, the world renowned handcrafted boot maker.
There are a couple reasons I picked this one boot. First of all, its 100% exactly what I’m looking for in a boot when it comes to looks. It is definitely the style I go for. Not to flashy but at the same time, its absolutely exquisite in detail when it comes to color, stitching, and I even love the roper toe.

Handmade: Yes Skin: Baby Buffalo Color: Whiskey Details: Stitched Toe Bug on Vamp, Stitched Designs on Pulls and Shaft Toe type: Roper Heel type: Lucchese ‘9’ Heel Outsole: Leather Insole: Leather Heel height: 1″ Shaft Height: 12″ Manufactured: El Paso, Texas
Another thing I love is that its made from baby buffalo leather, something you don’t find very often.
And last but not least, This is one of the most popular boots that have been purchased over at Pinto Ranch. Out of all the Lucchese boots offered there, this has the most reviews and they are all five stars. People can’t say enough about them and I wanted you to get a little taste of what they are saying, but I will get to that in a bit.
Let’s Talk About The Boot Itself
These baby buffalo ropers are absolutely stunning to the eye and have a beautiful whiskey color that is perfectly burnished consistently throughout the entire boot. It’s also super soft to the touch just like your favorite ring-spun cotton t-shirt. It also stands out because it has a 12-inch shaft where most ropers have a 10 inch shaft.
This stitching is subtle, but also pretty artistic at the same time. It has great flow and really doesn’t stick out that much and steal all the attention from the beautiful burnished whiskey color that I mentioned above. Oh, I forgot to mention, you can get them in black also!

What’s All This Talk About Lucchese?
First off, let me start off by saying that Lucchese has been making handcrafted cowboy boots in El Paso, Texas since 1883. You can read about them here if you would like: Lucchese Cowboy Boots
That will definitely give you a brief rundown on the History of these historic boot makers and will give you an appreciation for the amazing boots they make. Tradition, quality, attention to detail and just plain kick butt craftsmanship goes into every pair of cowboy boots that they make. That’s why they have been worn by presidents, movie stars and of course Arnold Schwarzenegger has a huge collection of Lucchese boots.
What Are People Saying About Lucchese Buffalo Boots?
I just wanted to add a couple of the reviews here that you can easily find over at the Pinto website. These boots are basically the “cat’s meow”. Not a single bad word about them.
One of the most beautiful ropers I’ve ever seen in my life : Review by David on 8 May 2018
One of the most beautiful ropers I’ve ever seen in my life. Went to visit the good folks at the Houston store. Tried several Lucchese ropers and was undecided about the style and color… until this baby was presented to me. I got the pair without hesitation. It is one gorgeous boot. Very happy with the purchase.
Wonderful products, even better service Review by M F. on 7 Mar 2018
Wonderful products, even better service recently ordered 2 beautiful pairs of Lucchese boots – thought one of them would put my 3 month search to an end. When they arrived they were even more beautiful in person, but unfortunately neither pair fit as I’d hoped. A quick call to Pinto Ranch procured a return label – no questions asked – but it sure was hard to let go of the boots! The search continues– hopefully it will end at Pinto Ranch, as it should. They are truly wonderful to do business with and I’d be proud to wear the PR experience.
This is just a couple of the reviews and even though one of them didn’t get a good fit, as you will find out, Pinto takes care of you if there is a problem. There are a lot more reviews over there and they all say the same thing. Beautiful boot and a wonderful shopping experience!
Shopping For Boots Online Pros And Cons
If you are familiar with any of our articles about buying boots at Pinto, you have probably already seen what we have said about that. For one thing, there really isn’t a “con” to speak of. I mean yeah, maybe you don’t know if you are gonna get the right fit because you’ve never tried on a pair of cowboy boots and you just aren’t sure. Trust me, I feel ya. But it won’t cost you any money if that’s the case. They will take back any returns or exchanges and they will foot the bill for the shipping. If its a tad bit too small, they will send you the return label free of charge and send you a larger size or completely refund your money. You get to do this all from the comfort of your home or wherever you might be at the time. It’s a win win situation and I don’t know of a better deal anywhere.
What Are You Waiting For?
Seriously, what? You should have clicked on one of the above images and headed over there to look at this boot a little more closely. They are made from the best materials out there and of course Lucchese quality is second to none.
Another great thing about this boot is its dressy enough for a night out on the town, but also looks amazing in jeans. This is my go to boot and probably my favorite boot of all time.
If you got any more questions about this beautiful baby buffalo boot or any other boot for that matter, give me a shout below and I’ll be more than happy to get back to ya.
The other day I did an article on Lucchese cowboy boots. I wanted to give you, the boot connoisseur so to speak, a little info on who actually makes the boots you own or are thinking of owning. I learned a lot while looking into their history and thought it would be a good idea to do articles on the 5 brands of boots we talk about the most here at We Heart. So today I decided to write about another super popular brand and that is Tony Lama Cowboy Boots.
Click Image To Check Out All Tony Lamas Men’s Cowboy Boots
Well let me tell you something, it was a difficult task at first. I really confused myself when doing some research on Tony Lama. I actually got a little confused and thought that the article I did on Lucchese was actually the wrong info and I somehow got information on Tony Lama. I had to do a double take on several occasions and re look up Lucchese’s info and Tony Lamas to make sure I got it right.
Why was it confusing? Well for one thing, they are both Italian immigrants. That was the main thing that kind of threw me for a loop. The difference being Lucchese was born in Italy and I believe Tony was born in New York. I couldn’t find any info that states that directly. Tony Lama started as shoemaker’s apprentice at the age of 11. I don’t really think that would fly in today’s world lol! He joined the U.S. Calvary as a cobbler for the soldiers stationed at Fort Bliss, Texas and when he was through with his service, he stayed in El Paso. He opened a small cobbler shop and repairs were his main business, but his handmade boots soon became popular and in his first year he sold 20 pairs of what was to become Tony Lama’s handcrafted boots.
Who Wants These Boots?
After a few years of making boots for his customers in El Paso, the word had hit the streets. Stores that specialized in western wear started asking Tony for his boots to sell in their stores. Because of the demand, Tony developed methods to be able to produce his handmade boots more quickly and in greater quantities to meet this demand.
Click BOOTS for more info and to PURCHASE!
It also didn’t hurt that Tony had six children and they all actively got involved in making these now famous cowboy boots and by the 1950s Tony Lama boots were being marketed nationally
In 1946, a custom pair of Tony Lama boots was presented to president Harry S. Truman. The boots were inlaid with gold and silver and were absolutely gorgeous. If you read the article I did on Lucchese boots, you will remember that President Lyndon B. Johnson was a fan of their boots. Hey, if a president is wearing them, they must be great boots!
Why Get A Pair Of Tony Lama Boots?
Me being Italian, I know there are three things they are famous for. Well there are more than three, but my top 3 that come to mind is cars, food, and footwear. When it comes to boots, that has kind of been proven by Lucchese and Tony Lama. The proof of the pudding is in the eating as they say.
Fifty years after the first store opened, it’s now 1961 and the company moved to a much larger operation producing around 750 pairs of boots a day. They were eventually sold to Justin industries and if you wear any kind of western style clothing, you definitely know that name. Justin might own Tony Lama, but they have kept the same tradition in boot making that Tony started back in El Paso. If you want a top quality pair of boots that are handcrafted with exquisite attention to detail, you can’t go wrong with Tony Lama.
Okay, Let’s Talk About Pricing
Once again my favorite place for cowboy or cowgirl boots and western wear is Pinto Ranch. I found 27 pairs of men’s Tony Lama boots and 12 pairs for women. The cheapest men’s boot was $371 and the cheapest women’s boot was $399. The most expensive boot was almost $1,500 for men and right at a $1,000 for women.
You are definitely getting what you pay for. These boots will last for years. These are top quality boots and come in a bunch of different styles, leathers, and colors. Sporting a pair of these around will most likely get you noticed. Top quality items usually do. You can get these boots for the ladies made from cowhide, lizard, Nile crocodile, and ostrich. For the guys, you can get the same and even a pair in kangaroo, goat, and even made from caiman. All the leathers are the finest quality and made in the same tradition as fine Italian craftsmanship in footwear that Tony Lama is famous for.
Where Can I Get A Pair
My best recommendation to get a pair of these beautiful boots is always Pinto Ranch. Why is that you ask? Well for one thing, they only carry the best. Also, they offer the best in not only Tony Lama, but other brands as well, so you just might find something you like better in say Lucchese, BlackJack, Stallion, or another top quality boot maker.
Also, they offer more than just boots. They have a huge selection of western wear ranging from belts, cowboy hats, western style jeans, shirts, and other types of clothing. Heck, they even have a saddle shop where they make their own handmade leather saddles on a daily basis.
If you’ve read any of our other articles, you know their return / exchange policy is second to none! You can return a pair of boots if they don’t fit correctly or decide to get a different pair free of charge. They will even pay the shipping, so that is one last thing you have to think about. According to Pinto Ranch, their first priority is your happiness with the pair of boots you choose. They want to make sure you have the correct fit and are 100% happy with the boots you choose
Another boot style that deserves a good look at is the Arlow. It features An Elegant golden Chestnut leather upper with orange and yellow stitching. It’s mahogany caiman narrow round toe foot shows a well-polished finish. With this boot style and all other Tony Lama Boot styles, it also features the Lama Comfort Technology insoles which offer support and comfort. A single stitch welt around the leather out sole adds durability and extends the life of this boot.
Check out our Review of Tony Lama Boots!
Let’s get into the last style of the Boots that I want to talk about that jumped out at me when I saw it. It doesn’t have wings but it’s design and style will make you soar. It’s none other than the Griffon. When my eyes met this glorious display of craftsmanship, I knew I had to add it to the list. The Griffon has a distressed golden brown leather exterior accented by a multi-color stitching. A smooth ostrich square toe foot has added texturing for that lived-in feel. However, none of this would be complete without the Lama Comfort Technology insole. It’s double stitched welt adds durability and the rubber out sole provides both oil and slip-resistance. It also features a horseshoe pattern that adds traction to each step.
Cowgirls, Rejoice!
Something would surely be amiss if I neglected to mention my lovely rodeo vixens. You need a boot that can handle your stride as well, right? No worries, Tony Lama has a collection of styles that will knock you off your feet (hopefully into a pair of Tony Lama Cowboy Boots *wink). Of course there are plenty that I could mention, but there are two beauties that grabbed my eyes and clutched my beating heart.
Magnolia Rose: Yes ma’am, the Magnolia Rose! Now, I’m a sucker for a beautiful woman wearing some sexy boots, but a beautiful woman sporting my favorite color (red), now that would just give me a heart attack and send me to an early grave. This 16-in tall heel features of plum leather, with a fashionable pink, white, and purple stitching. The golden brown foot sports a square receipt toe and the scalloped collar as flair and style to this blooming Magnolia. A Buckaroo spur heel allows for an easy fit. The orthotic insoles provide comfort and support for the would-be Rodeo Fashionista.
There You Have It
I would say these aren’t your grandparents pair of boots, but they very well could be. Tony Lama’s style and tradition lives on in every pair of boots that Tony Lama makes today. If you’ve never had a pair of cowboy boots or even if you own a closet full of them, it’s definitely worth your while to check out a pair of these works of art.
Hey, as I said, presidents have worn these boots and there is good reason. Only the best for the commander in chief. With over a 100 years of boot making experience, Tony Lama puts that knowledge and skill not to mention attention to detail in every pair of women’s and men’s boots they make. You won’t be disappointed!
As always, if you have any comments or questions about Tony Lama or any type of handmade boot, go ahead and leave us a comment below.
I wanted to take the time out and do the next series of posts on our favorite boots from each brand by leather type. In this post, we will be talking about our favorite ostrich cowboy boots for men by five different boot makers available at Pinto Ranch. I may add or subtract from this list due to popularity. I will add or subtract different boots as needed.
As you may already know, ostrich cowboy boots are super popular and often have a distinctive look because of those little bumps on the leather from their quills. Ostrich leather is also one of the softest skins, if not the softest out of all the exotic leathers made into handmade cowboy boots. This was supposed to be my “Top 5 ostrich cowboy boots for men” but I’m about to add another pair that kind of slipped through the cracks. I’m not gonna tell you exactly which pair I just added because it doesn’t really matter. If I find another great pair of ostrich boots, I will just add them to this article under the brand name as needed. I have 5 great brand names that are all handmade listed here and it will be easy to add them as needed. The important thing is it’s here now and when it comes down to it, you be the judge on the pair you like the best. You can click on any of the images here and see those particular boots or from there you can easily navigate to a wide selection of ostrich boots or any other exotic leathers or basic cowboy boots made from calf, goat, etc… Just click a boot and check them out!
BLACK JACK MEN’S BURNISHED CIGAR SMOOTH OSTRICH BOOTS
This is my favorite ostrich skin boot from Black Jack boots. These boots are handmade in Texas that are durable, soft, and have a great classic look. The boots are two toned made with smooth ostrich skin with a burnished cigar look. The tops are goat mad dog goat skin and have a round toe and a super comfortable walking heel.

Price: Was $675.00 Now $540.00 Handmade: Yes Material: Smooth Ostrich Color: Burnished Cigar Details: Hueco Cording, Overlay on Pull Straps, Toe Medallion Toe type:Black Jack ‘6’ Toe Heel type: Black Jack ‘3’ Heel Outsole: Leather Insole: Leather Heel Height: 1 3/8″ Shaft Height: 12″ Manufactured: El Paso, Texas
Durability, Look, And Super Soft
Another great thing about ostrich skin is it has the highest tensile strength when it comes to leathers used in making cowboy boots. Because of this, they can make it very thin which is also one of the reasons that it’s the softest of the cowboy boot leathers. It’s not unusual to see a person wearing a pair of these handmade boots all the time that are 20 years old. They can do this because they are so strong and durable that after a long time of wearing, they still look great!
LUCCHESE MEN’S BLACK FULL-QUILL OSTRICH ROPER BOOTS
This was a hard choice. I mean it seems like all Lucchese cowboy boots are awesome, but they all looked kind of similar with subtle differences here and there. I will say, there was one boot that reminded me of the ice king from Game Of Thrones. I don’t know why, but that is the first thing I thought of. If you want, head over to Pinto Ranch’s site and go to Lucchese ostrich skin boots and you will know right what I’m talking about when you see it.
These boots are hand made in the unofficial cowboy boot capital of the world, El Paso, Texas. They have a full quill ostrich skin vamp and feature a hand calf leather shaft with some beautiful hand stitching on the front of the vamp.

Price: $1,150 Handmade: Yes Skin: Full-Quill Ostrich, Ranch Hand Calf Leather Color: Black Details: Full-Quill Ostrich Overlays, Stitched Designs on Quarters, Kennedy Pulls Toe type: Roper Heel type: Lucchese ‘9’ Heel Outsole: Leather Insole: Leather Heel height: 1″ Shaft Height: 10″ Manufactured: El Paso, Texas
What Cut Ostrich Do You Like
Full quill ostrich skin boots are probably the most preferred. That is where you can really see the bumps on the boot where they yanked out the feathers. Most of the time they are burnished or have some “antiquing” done to them that highlights or makes those bumps really stand out. This is what probably immediately comes to mind when you are thinking of ostrich skin boots.

A LUCCHESE CLASSIC COWBOY BOOT IN BARNWOOD WITH THE RIGHT STUFF:
FULL-QUILL OSTRICH, DETAILED STITCHING, A TRADITIONAL ROUND TOE AND WALKING HEEL.
I hate to judge people, but if you can’t see the beauty in this handmade ostrich boot, something is wrong with you lol! This pair in particular had one of the the largest amount of reviews that I’ve seen a pair of cowboy boots have and they were all 5 stars. This is definitely a BEST SELLER when it comes to cowboy boots from Pinto Ranch and definitely stands on it’s own! The full-quill ostrich vamp and the dark tan ranch hand calf leather shaft combine for complementary contrast. The boot also has an ostrich inlay on the front of the shaft, a traditional round toe and a 1 3/8″ walking heel. You seriously need to click on the image above and check them out. Read the reviews by the way. “Excellent design and quality”, “Excellent boots, got exactly what I imagined”, “Beautiful boots”, etc….
Price: $1,195 (This is literally a steal for a best selling pair of handmade ostrich skin boots)
Handmade: Yes Skin: Full-Quill Ostrich, Ranch Hand Calf Leather Color: Barnwood Details: Full-Quill Ostrich Overlays and Inlay, Stitched Designs and Cording on Shaft Toe type: Lucchese ‘6’ Toe Heel type: Lucchese ‘3’ Heel Outsole: Leather Insole: Leather Heel height: 1 3/8″ Shaft Height: 12″ Manufactured: El Paso, Texas
Smooth ostrich skin boots don’t have the quill bumps like the full quill boots. Full quill leather coming from the top or back of the ostrich with the big feathers, the smooth ostrich skin is coming from the side or the legs. Fewer feathers or smaller feathers. It makes the leather coming from there with smaller bumps or even smooth. It definitely doesn’t have that full quill look. It’s still soft, just doesn’t have that distinctive look as the full quill look and the price is usually considerably cheaper. Same great quality, just a different look and different price.
You can also get a “Piece cut ostrich skin” boot which has a combination of some parts being full quill and some being smooth ostrich skin. These boots have a really different type of look and a real classic look. It’s been around for a long time and really distinctive as well.
One last cut is the ostrich leg cut. You won’t see any quill bumps on this boot. The ostrich leg cut is always pieced because the ostrich legs aren’t big enough to cover a whole boot. This boot leather is usually pretty shiny and not as soft as the quill skin. This leather also isn’t as soft and usually used as a dress boot because it’s really shiny. Lots of people mistake ostrich leg cut boot to be reptilian or snake because it looks so different from the full quill or smooth ostrich.
RIOS OF MERCEDES BRANDY AND MAD CAT RUST GOAT & FULL QUILL OSTRICH BOOTS
Wow, that was a mouthful! I guess you can say the bigger the name, the bigger the boots lol! These boots are awesome. These full quill ostrich boots are handmade of course and the leather is a very bright brandy color that stands out against the darkened quills. These boots immediately caught my eye in a group of beautiful boots made by Rios Of Mercedes.
Here is a whole article on Rios of Mercedes full quill ostrich boots with plenty off styles to choose from for both men and women!
If you know anything about Rios Of Mercedes, you will know you can’t get these boots anywhere else. They are exclusively made just for Pinto Ranch and they want to pass on the savings to their customers. Rios has been making boots for over 150 years and it definitely shows in the quality and stunning beauty of every pair of handmade boots that they make.

Don’t Worry About Returns Or Exchanges
We’ve mentioned this before, but Pinto has the best return or exchange policy, so don’t let shopping online scare you. You may get the size wrong or want a slightly different look in your boot, they understand that. If so, it won’t cost you a penny!

We believe the right fit is the most important thing, and that is sometimes hard to achieve with an online order. Pinto Ranch will cover your return shipping until you find the perfect fit
Stallion also makes full quill ostrich cowboy boots, unfortunately there are only three to choose from. The good news is all three are pretty awesome and are 100% ostrich skin from the vamp to the 7″ shaft. If you’ve never worn a cowboy boot with a short shaft, you’ve really got to try it. I love them. The shortened shaft means you can wear them with any pair of pants. Jeans, dockers, whatever. I love all three but chose this pair because I’m kind of partial to brown cowboy boots. For some reason they just seem more casual to me.
If you don’t know about Stallion boots, let me give you a quick rundown. They are pretty new by boot making standards. They started in 1980 which seems like a long time when you compare them to other industries, but not in handmade cowboy boot years. They are handmade by some of the best cowboy boot artisans in the USA. They are pretty well-known when it comes to boot fashion and have been featured on the runways of fashion shows in Paris, Milan, and New York. They also can be found on the feet of a lot of Hollywood personalities.

TONY LAMA SIGNATURE SERIES MEN’S DARK NICOTINE NILE BELLY & OSTRICH ROPER BOOTS
I have to begin with an apology here. There are 9 different ostrich skin cowboy boots offered by Tony Lama on Pinto’s site and I had to pick the most expensive. Some under $400 and a couple over a grand. I’m sorry, but these immediately made an impression on me.
You had me at ostrich skin and Nile crocodile, then you throw in Ropers and I was sold. The vamps are a beautiful crocodile skin pattern with amazing color. The design is very neat and orderly with just a slight roughness around the edges. This is definitely the Cadillac of handmade cowboy boots!

These are the different cuts of ostrich boots and maybe you have a certain taste and a cut that you prefer. All these boots are distinctive in their own way and might have different appeal to different people. Remember, different strokes for different folks. Ostrich being one of the favorite exotic skin boots in the western world. Well known for being very comfortable and having a distinctive look.
Check out our men’s exotic cowboy boots or some beautiful exotic cowboy boots for the ladies!
I hoped you found this post really informative and it will definitely give you a leg or feather up when you are choosing a great ostrich skin boot. Remember, I only picked out my favorite boot from all 5 boot makers at Pinto Ranch. They have a ton more ostrich boots and hundreds of other boots in other exotic and non exotic leathers. Head on over there and give them a looksie! As always, if you have any comments or questions, give us a shout below in the comments section.
We’ve written a lot of great articles on some amazing men’s cowboy boots. Literally the finest boots from makers like Lucchese, Tony Lama, Blackjack, etc… We have even written some articles on Rios Of Mercedes out of Mercedes Texas. Each and every one of their boots is handmade under one roof in south Texas. They’ve been around since 1853 and just one look at their boots and you can tell they know what they are doing.
Video Of How to “Distress” Your Own Boots!
But I have to say, one boot has definitely caught my eye. It’s the distressed Sahara suede vintage cowboy boot that I just absolutely fell in love with. Pretty much if you add the word “distressed” in front of anything, I automatically like it. From t-shirts, jeans, whatever, I’m just a big fan of the “distressed” look.
RIOS OF MERCEDES DISTRESSED SAHARA SUEDE COWBOY BOOTS
When I was first scrolling through the Rios Of Mercedes boots section on Pinto’s website, I was pretty impressed with all their boots. Not really a bad boot in the whole bunch. Some I liked better than others, you know how it goes. I mean everyone has different tastes, that’s why you have to make a wide variety of boots. That pretty much goes for anything. T-shirts, jeans, etc… You get the point. But when I saw these distressed cowboy boots, that was like an “A-ha moment” for me. I literally could just wear these everywhere. The house, the mall, the bar, etc…
You can check out a great review we did on Rios Of Mercedes boots right here and it will take you right to all of their boots for men and women.
Make sure you check them out and let me know what you think in the comments below. If you have any questions, feel free to ask.
These Boots Come At A Great Price For The Quality
These handmade cowboy boots are selling for under $500 by one of the premiere cowboy boot makers in Texas. The quality is second to none and these babies will last literally for decades. They are rugged as hell and can stand up to anything. I kind of like to call them the “beef jerky” of cowboy boots.
Click Image To Purchase These Boots On Pinto Ranch
Cowhide is synonymous when you think of the cowboy lifestyle. These boots are definitely what I picture in my head when I first think of cowboy boots. Rugged, hard-working, plain and simple, the type of vintage cowboy boots that make you feel like you have the best quality boots in the world. The have the following specifications:
Handmade: Yes Material: Cowhide Color: Sahara Details: Distressed Soles, Chocolate Brown Piping, Pull Straps Toe type: Rios ‘KS’ Toe Heel type: Rios ‘3 Short’ Heel Outsole: Hybrid Leather and Neoprene Sole Insole: Leather Heel Height: 1 3/8″ Shaft Height: 12″ Manufactured: Mercedes, Texas
These distressed cowboy boots have a tan rough out style with an unfinished, raw leather tops that give them an authentic “trail hand” look that you would find out west. The great thing is that they have a cushioned insole and a hybrid out sole that provide comfort and durability that you couldn’t find back in the ole days of trail riding. They also sport a wide snip toe that I really love in a cowboy boot. That’s just my personal preference. I’m not really big on a pointy toe boot. And of course, as I said earlier, they are all handmade in Texas.
You will love these Buffalo Boots for men!
Buying Boots Online, Is It Risky?
Guess what, we all can’t go to Texas or Mexico just to try on boots. You might be a little apprehensive in buying a pair of footwear online because one of the most important things when buying a pair of boots that cost hundreds of dollars is the fit. Well, fear not. Luckily over at Pinto Ranch, they have a great return policy.
At Pinto Ranch, they believe the fit is the most important thing when buying a pair of their handmade vintage cowboy or western cowgirl boots. If your distressed cowboy boots or any other type of boot for that matter doesn’t fit correctly, Pinto Ranch will cover the cost of your return shipping until you get the correct fit that you so deserve. That is incredible. Basically, that is no risk to you. You won’t get nickel and dimed on shipping costs and best of all, you get to do all of this from the comfort of your own home without a salesperson driving you crazy! Another win win situation if you ask me.
Also, all boot orders in the U.S. get free shipping from the get go. The only thing you will be paying for are your new handmade distressed cowboy boots and that’s it!
Great Vintage Cowboy Boots, Great Price, Great Guarantee
Well, those are some great things lol! Seriously, what else do you need? As I said, this is my kind of boot. Rios of Mercedes has more than just a beautiful pair of distressed cowboy boots. Make sure you check them all out. From the distressed cowboy boot look to the wide snip toe, to the comfort of the padded insole, this is all around my favorite boot. I know that everyone has different tastes, so if this boot isn’t for you, click on one of the links here and head on over and take a look anyway.
Pinto has a ton of handmade boots for both men and women. They also have a ton of western wear that I’m sure you will find something you will love. Hats, boots, belts, clothing, etc… They have a little bit of everything, (but I highly recommend these men’s distressed cowboy boots).
As I have already mentioned, you shouldn’t let size or fit keep you from trying them out. The exchange policy is second to none. It’s risk free online shopping that is second to none.
Hello everyone, in this article I wanted to do something a little different and give you my favorite or the best men’s cowboy boots from each brand at Pinto Ranch. The 5 brands in question here are Black Jack boots, Lucchese Boots, Rios of Mercedes, Stallion, and last but not least, Tony Lama men’s western boots. These are my personnel choice and a couple are probably on sale. You’re welcome!
Now, I would like to make it clear that I am doing this in alphabetical order by brand name. Just because I’m doing Black Jack first, that doesn’t mean it’s my favorite out of the top brands. Picking a favorite would probably take me months and months to ponder, and then I would probably end up changing my mind a hundred times just because all of these boots are absolutely fantastic! Rounded toe, snip toe, roper, or a square toe cowboy boot, Pinto Ranch has them all.
I’m also gonna do something I normally do and list the price of the boot with each pair. I want complete transparency. Some of these may seem pretty expensive, but trust me, you are definitely getting what you pay for. The quality of every boot that I’ve seen at Pinto Ranch is second to none. This is definitely footwear that could easily last you for the rest of your life. Many a person have actually stated they wanted to be buried in their cowboy boots. Once you get a pair from Pinto Ranch, you will know why they made this statement.

It took me awhile to pick from the 37 different Black Jack men’s boots that Pinto Ranch (exclusive) offers, but I just love these chocolate caiman handmade men’s cowboy boots. Then I saw that they were almost $400 off and that just solidified my choice. Hey, I love saving money just like anyone else. Not all the Black Jack boots at Pinto Ranch are on sale, but they do have quite a few and I guarantee you that you will find a pair you love.
This particular boot comes in sizes from 8.0 up to 13.0 and offers many half sizes. It also offers width D and EE which a lot of you will love.
These boots feature an exotic take on exotic leather, featuring a not-so-often seen side of the legendary caiman Crocodile. The flank vamp has luxurious caiman leather in three sections, with circular scales that give this boot an undeniable, unrivaled quality. These boots are as incredible as the modern dinosaurs they come from. The shaft of these boots is supple, brown brush off goat leather.
How awesome are Black Jack Boots? Well, to tell you the truth, Black Jack Boots are made exclusively for them. That’s it, you can’t get them anywhere else. They make a selected few and only offer them in one place. That has the sign of quality written all over those boots! They are designed and constructed in El Paso, Texas by Black Jack’s master boot makers only for Pinto Ranch. That is pretty special if you ask me. They only use 100% leather that is genuine and conform to Pinto’s highest standards and quality. The only thing that I ask of you is that you try not to get overwhelmed by the sheer beauty and attention to detail these boot makers put in to these magnificent boots!
These boots feature an elegant and sleek ‘Sunland’ cording pattern, outlined by chocolate stitching. The vamp rises with texture, with a ‘6’ round cowboy toe. The pull straps match the rest of the boot. They’re elegant, with caiman overlays and a defining flourish.

I don’t know, call me crazy, but I just picked a Lucchese men’s boot made from goat! LOL. Now just the process of picking a Lucchese handmade western boots out of a selection of 41 different styles is like trying to pick the best Lamborghini on a Lamborghini lot. I mean it’s Lucchese for god’s sakes. I want them all. I love some of them, but I definitely like them all. When it came down to it, I ended up choosing one of the cheaper pairs just because I like the look of it the best. It has some sort of antique or vintage look that I just love. I mean the boots are made from goat and I could have selected from ostrich, elk, caiman, etc… etc… A ton of exotic leathers and looks to choose from, but I loved these!
Here’s a number for you……1883. That is the date Lucchese boot makers first started making handmade cowboy boots. It’s crazy to think about a company that has been around that long if you ask me. Lucchese is definitely synonymous with the word cowboy boots. It’s also synonymous when you think of words like handcrafted, excellence, quality, style, and attention to detail, etc… when you are trying to describe a pair of their cowboy boots. Like every classic pair of Lucchese handmade cowboy boots, they all come with Lucchese’s one year warranty so you know you are getting the highest quality pair of boots money can buy!
This particular boot comes in sizes from 8.5 up to 13.0 and offers many half sizes. It also offers width D for a little extra width.

I really loved these boots and went with a shorter look this time. Hey, you don’t always need or even want a 12″ shaft. Five Amazing Cowboy Boots – You Be The Judge
Wow, those western boots were amazing! If there was a sports center equivalent for boots, those 5 would definitely be on there. Now this was my own personal review of my five favorite handmade cowboy boots for men, but you should check them out yourself. I guarantee that you will find something else on Pinto Ranch that you like better. It’s all about your taste and style, not mine.
I just hope the boots that I have picked out can lead you in a direction to find your new favorite pair. Snip toe, round toe, square toe, or whatever, I’m sure you will find a pair that you love. That’s the whole point of this article, it’s acting like a sign post to point you in the right direction to your next favorite pair of boots. This should put you a couple steps ahead in your search for perfection!
Please let us know what you think below and if there is something in particular we can help you with or maybe you just have some general info, questions, or comments about the brands above. Thanks!
Alright everybody, it’s time we talk about square toe cowboy boots! Over the past year I’ve been wearing square toe cowboy boots much more frequently than any other time in my cowboy boot wearing life. So before a year ago, I probably wouldn’t go out and buy a pair of square toed boots.
I guess I would have to say that I am more of a medium round traditional boot kind of guy or a good pair of Ropers! There are a lot of cowboy boot toe types to choose from, but when it comes down to it, it’s mostly personal taste that should win out on what toe type you choose. I really like that rounded medium look, so the square toe just never really appealed to me but since companies have been sending me boots and I’m starting to understand why they are made the way they are, I have a new appreciation for square toe cowboy boots and I’m gonna get into why.

Nothing but impressed from start to finish with this transaction, the order process was easy, the shipping was fast and the boots were even more stunning in person. The stitching, design and finish are all first class with no detail left out! It is very rare in this day and age you find a business that still values the customers and not just profits. There were several personal touches such as a handwritten card that just reinforce the point I will do business there again!

The return process is easy and free if the boots are not a good fit, thankfully sizing was good and fit 100% as expected. Peter R.Verified Bu yer
So some of you might say “but Jeremiah, their ugly” well that always comes down to personal preference. I know Texas, and Oklahoma and some of those surrounding states really like the square toe and along the East Coast and West Coast as well, except for the West coast cities (don’t even talk to L.A. about square toes, they hate it but they hate a lot of things actually so I take everything that they say with a grain of salt.).
Anyways whether you think the square toe looks good or not I gotta be honest, comfort is the main benefit of a square toe boot. You have this wide toe box here which makes it so you can spread your toes out a little bit. You got a little bit more wiggle room literally and it’s comfortable to be in all day. You don’t have anything on the side squeezing your foot. You know it’s a little bit easier to find a fit that’s good for you. Cowboy boots can be tough to fit. So it’s just a comfortable boot because you have so much space in that toe box. Now you might be thinking, but Jeremiah the only reason why their so popular is because the cowboy boot company’s market square toe cowboy boots more frequently than any other to style.
Square Toe For The Fit
Now as of right now, I have seen more square toe cowboy boot ads, not including the Tacoma ads around online and when it comes down to it makes sense that a cowboy boot company would want to market square toe cowboy boots more frequently because it’s just easier to find a good fitting boot because this toe box is so wide the average person can slip their foot into a square toe cowboy boot and most likely find a better fit right off the bat then what they would with a medium round toe or snip toe. The problem is that a lot of times you can go about a half a size smaller than what you would wear in that traditional cowboy boot. So because this toe box is so wide that makes the taper much less. See as you can see here there is much less room in this toe box then there is in this toe box. That makes it possible for a person to come down a half a size. The problem is when you go a half size down that could put the arch position for your foot in the wrong spot so it all depends on the insole that is in the boot. You just wanna make sure that you have that support in the arch area because that could lead to some pretty significant problems down the road. But it makes sense that a cowboy boot company would want to market a square toe cowboy boot more than another toe style just because it fits the average population better and they don’t lose a lot of money making toe styles that don’t feel good for the average population.
Rios of Mercedes Men’s Texas Feral Hog Boots
Go hog wild in these rugged boots from South Texas where not only is the feral hog leather harvested, but where these beautiful boots are handmade! This unique boot is made with Texas feral hog leather with black western stitching on the shaft and a classic toe medallion. The flexible hybrid TufFlex sole and cushioned insole provide all day comfort. This casual, square toe boot reflects true western style with Texas flair.
If you’ve tried your hand at hog hunting before and didn’t have much luck, well guess what, now you’re in luck lol! Feral hogs have been a major pain in the you know what for Texans and many other Americans since their unwelcomed introduction! I can literally only 3 things these pigs are good for. Their meat, the pleasure it gives me to hunt them, and these amazing feral hog handcrafted cowboy boots lol.
You want want to wear something that is a conversation piece? LOL, look no farther. I mean really, what could be better then sitting in a bar and someone casually looking down and asking you what your boots are made from! Seriously, that is gonna be at least a 10 minute discussion and you might even get a free beer out of it.

Great Looks And Comfort Is What It’s All About
A lot of Cowboys are also doing their ranch work on those gator all terrain vehicles, on quads, on tractors, so you could imagine that a cowboy or a ranch worker would just want to be comfortable while their working. They don’t want their toes all squeezed up in that toe box all day for no reason. It makes a good work book is basically what I’m saying. I’ve been using this as a work boot just to do construction here and their. Little odd jobs and I gotta say, it’s a great boot to work in just because it is so comfortable.
It feels like a cowboy boot fit, which I really like because you’re able to keep your feet cool because of the heel slip, there’s a lot of air that can pass through a cowboy boot while you’re working so that leads to less sweat and that leads to less stink and an overall cool comfort feeling that just feels better while your working. I’ve definitely been won over by the square toe and I think you will too.
Are they my favorite toe style? No, not really, but I do respect them in the lineup of toe styles out there. If you like the square toe, rock it. If you like the traditional medium round toe, rock it. If you like the snip toe, rock it. The most important thing about wearing western boots is that you are wearing cowboy boots. I don’t care what toe style you have, nor should anybody else. Let’s just enjoy cowboy boots together.
I really don’t know if maybe you like or love cowboy boots and maybe you’ve never actually owned a pair or maybe you like cowboy boots and you have 20 pairs. Who knows, luckily for you I can’t see into your closet. One thing that I am sure of is if you are in fact a fan of handmade cowboy boots, You’ve most certainly heard the name “Tony Lama“, and I guarantee you want to check out a pair of these Tony Lama crocodile cowboy boots!
They definitely aren’t your typical boots. You might even thing they may even be on the pricey side. I really don’t know your taste in footwear since I said before, I haven’t looked in your closet. At first, I actually thought they were a bit on the pricey side. Some of these boots easily go over a thousand dollars and even over two thousand. But hey, what do I know? I don’t even like to spend that much on a car! LOL….
Then I got a pair. Actually got them from a friend for a very good price because he injured his foot in an accident and could no longer wear them. It was an offer I couldn’t refuse. WOW is all I got to say! I’ve really never worn anything like them in my life. Built to perfection, these Nile crocodile boots from the Tony Lama Signature Series Collection feature a bias cut Nile crocodile belly vamp for a one-of-kind look. The 13″ calf leather shafts have a traditional western cord pattern and pull straps with Nile crocodile overlays. The boot is finished with a comfortable 1 3/8″ walking heel.

“I didn’t think anyone could match the fit of Lucchese boots but I was very wrong. I have slightly different feet measurements, not enough to go up or down a size but enough to make the right boot fit a problem. I’m happy to say that Tony Lama minimizes the problem. And they also look great. I’m a happy cowboy!”

As soon as my eyes gazed upon these pair of boots, I’m not gonna lie, I was intrigued as hell! Such a unique look to them that I had to know more. I read the title “Handmade Pirarucu Fish Boots” and it sounded very familiar. About 2 hours later I realized how I knew the name. I was watching a show on Animal Planet by the name of “River Monsters” with Jeremy Wade and he was going after Pirarucus. They are massive fish that will eat just about anything. Mystery solved? Yes and no, I mean I still needed to know more about these handmade boots. They are absolutely amazing.
The Boot and the Fish
The legendary Pirarucu is the largest fish in the Amazon river, one of the most incredible and exotic places on the planet. One look at this incredible boot and you’ll be taken away to an exciting place. The Marfa cord and stitch pattern looks almost like a blazing fire, with cascading, exotic lines zigzagging up the front and back of the boot. Pull straps show off more of these boots’ beautiful, bright Pirarucu skin with overlays, complimenting the rich color of handmade goat leather cowboy boots. I can almost guarantee you, if you walk into a place with others wearing any type of cowboy boots, it’s gonna be tough to find someone wearing a pair of Pirarucu Boots. Not because they are lower quality or don’t look as good as other boots, but they just aren’t a well-known species. I never heard of them until I watched Animal Planet and trust me, not everyone watches that channel and even less that show. It’s definitely cool if you could be the first of your friends or colleagues to own a pair so check out these 3 beautiful Handmade Pirarucu boots sale!

In our last post, we talked about the Women’s Handmade Black Leather Cowgirl Boots. We compared to being a little bit country and a little bit rock n’ roll. I thought it would only be fair to include this awesome pair of Sage Cole handmade leather cowboy boots for the guys. Basically a cowboy boot with some definite biker characteristics. Best of both worlds if you ask me! A quality handmade boot at a really affordable price brought to you by Hat Country. Check out Hat Country because they have way more than just hats.
Get yourself a boot that will last, feel and look great! The Abilene Cole men’s cowboy boots will do just that for you with the cushioned insole and composite out sole. With a snip toe and 1 1/2″ cowboy heel, they’ll definitely look great on you. In addition to the heel and toe, there is a studded bracelet and a boot chain separating a 12″ urethane shaft with a tribal tattoo design and a cowhide shoulder.
Cowboy Boots are riding boots often associated with the western lifestyle. A variety of toe options are available depending on the use and personal preference. They include round toe, J-toe, snip toes, square toes and more. The two most common heels are the cowboy (western) heel, most frequently associated with the cowboy boot, and the lower roper heel, usually seen on a working barn boot. They are traditionally leather boots, however these boots are available in a number of exotic skins such as caiman and ostrich. The shaft, the upper portion of the boot, varies in high style and color. It usually has some form of scroll or floral embroidered pattern.
