Pirarucu Boots Sale – An Amazing Fish Made Into A Beautiful Cowboy Boot

Okay everyone, hope you are having a great day, but enough with the pleasantries and let’s talk about a boot or boots that I’m really excited to talk about. Today I’m gonna talk about and show you some fabulous Pirarucu boots. I have three pairs to show you and they are all by Black Jack boots. If you don’t know about Black Jack boots, you really need to check them out. This is one heck of a Pirarucu boots sale and I guarantee you will absolutely fall in love with these boots.

You might be saying “What in the heck is a Pirarucu?”. About 2 years ago, I would have said the same thing. Luckily I saw a fishing show on the Discovery channel and I knew right what it was when I saw these boots. It’s a massive fish. Prehistoric looking to be quite truthful. So basically it’s fish skin boots.

Pirarucu Boots – Known as “Big Bass” cowboy boots

For some reason that sounds a little weird at first, but if you think about it, why not fish? I mean boots are made from alligator, crocodile, lizard, ostrich, all sort of different types of skin, so why not a fish! If you’re a fisherman, you might be thinking “wow, fish skin is pretty delicate and I don’t know if that would make a great boot or not!”.

Well, let me put your mind at ease. As I said, the Pirarucu is practically prehistoric looking and the reason for this is that of it’s skin. This fish practically looks like it’s wearing some kind of chain-mail armor. I’m guessing this fish can take almost any type of insult thrown at it. I think the term “thick-skinned” might have derived from it.

Black is back in these beautiful black Pirarucu fish boots. Straight from the Amazon and made in Texas, these may be your new favorite pair of black cowboy boots. They have a beautiful skin that forms a diamond pattern along with an exciting cord and stitch pattern that you just won’t find on other boots.

Literally, this boot is a big fish in a big pond. Or river, rather. The Marfa cord and stitch pattern looks almost like a blazing fire, with cascading, exotic lines zigzagging up the front and back of the boot. Pull straps show off more of these boots’ beautiful Pirarucu skin with overlays, complimenting the deep, dark color of the goat skin.

What’s not to love about this pair of beautiful ginger Pirarucu boots! The color is amazing and it has the same diamond pattern as the black Pirarucu boots. All three have this pattern and why not. As my grandpa used to say, “Don’t fix it if it’s not broken.”. This is the pattern of this particular type of fish’s scales, so not much you could do anyway.

I love the color of the fish skin in the vamp with the dark highlights in between the scales. They really make the diamond pattern pop! It once again has the darkened goat leather for the upper with the same great western stitching and the fish skin overlays on the pull straps are the same beautiful ginger color as the scales on the vamp.

Seriously, if you don’t love these boots, something is wrong with your eyesight! I’m not sure which one is my favorite so far the black Pirarucu cowboy boots we mentioned first or these beautiful ginger boots. No matter which is yours, we still have one left and in my opinion they are just as good at the first 2. You just won’t find a Pirarucu boots sale as good as this one!

I know what you are thinking, “You had me at chocolate fish” right? Lol, yeah, that is a disgusting image, but the look of these boots will definitely have you thinking otherwise!

They have the same pattern as the 2 prior boots with that awesome diamond pattern. I do believe the Pirarucu is the only fish or animal or whatever with that pattern that you will find in a pair of handmade cowboy boots. You definitely won’t find it that large or pronounced in another animal leather.

I really like these because the chocolate color stands out, just not as much and the ginger. That’s a little more to my liking, but for a lot of people, the ginger is exactly what they are looking for and will definitely catch your eye a little quicker. It’s really hard for me to make a pronounced argument for any particular one of these boots because I also love the straight black ones. They definitely have that straight “Johnny Cash” look to them that only a straight black boot can pull off.

You’re Not Gonna Catch Another Pirarucu Boots Sale Like This One

Well, you learn something every day don’t you! There was a good chance before seeing this article, you’ve never heard of fish skin cowboy boots or of a fish called a Pirarucu that lived in the mighty Amazon for that matter.

If you have some friends that have the traditional snake skin boots or the always faithful cowhide cowboy boots, ( maybe a little exotic with a pair of Carpincho boots) why don’t you have a little fun and make their heads spin around in a pair of these Pirarucu cowboy boots. I think it’s about time we start talking about the best cowboy boot brands out there and not really so much on just one particular boot in itself. So today I’m gonna talk about the top 10 cowboy boot brands and why you should check them out before any others.

If they are in this list, it’s not just because of their name. They have made it here because they have a superior product. I’m not gonna sit here and give you some bogus info on a boot brand just because they are popular. One other thing I want to mention, I’m not gonna mention 10 different boot brands. After sitting here and thinking about it, I really can’t come up with that many that I think are worthy of making the cut. That may sound a little strange, but to me when someone says “top 10”, that kind of means you are in a league with higher standards than the norm. This list is in no particular order.

Who Makes The Best Cowboy Boot?

Well, that is one heck of a question if you ask me. I think it would come down to personal preference, but I think I can say with relative certainty that it’s one of the boot brands on this page. My two favorites here are Stallion and Lucchese. That’s just me though. Lucchese because that is what I started out on and they will always be my first love lol! Stallion boots because OMG, they are absolutely incredible and they are pretty new to the boot world. Their quality is second to none in my opinion.

One of my favorite pairs of Rios boots is the Rios of Mercedes Black Americano Full Quill Ostrich Cowboy Boots for Men for $537 (on sale from $895). I love a all black pair of full quill ostrich boots and at this price I want 2! One of the best cowboy boot brands in my humble opinion.

This is another brand that has been around for a long time. Almost 170 years to be exact. Besides quality materials’ and boot makers that have more experience most boot makers could dream of, Rios of Mercedes boots are very well-known for the fit of their boots. The way the leather is cut for each particular type of material they are using is kept in mind so they stretch the hide of the leathers from side to side over the ball of the foot where other boots may slip and slide. Especially in boots that use synthetic components. Rios boots practically mold to your feet and you can feel this in every step.

Rios of Mercedes has made boot making a science and knows that certain leathers will stretch or not stretch as much to fit your foot depending on what it’s made from (i.e. calf skin, stingray, kangaroo, ostrich, etc…). When you understand some of the intricacies of boot making such as this, you end up making a quality pair of boots that others just can’t match. If you haven’t tried Rios of Mercedes, you’re missing out!

Lane cowgirl boots are a brand that you will instantly fall in love with! They do sell men’s and women’s boots, but we mainly love them for the ladies cowgirl boots. They are cowboy boots, but boy, did Lane think out of the box when designing them! Designer boots with a western influence and they are absolutely amazing! I’m gonna start off by saying that Black jack made the list because they have some excellent boots that are top quality. For a boot company that has only been around less than 25 years, they sure do seem to know what they are doing. With that be said, you really don’t want to visit their website. It’s absolutely atrocious. Very hard to navigate, no prices, I don’t know if they are ladies’ boots, men’s boots, or what. One reason I’m adding them to the list is because they have always made a great quality boot and they make them in all price ranges, so almost anyone can afford a pair. You can literally get a pair for just over a couple hundred bucks or you can go high end at over a thousand. Well, I told you we wouldn’t be talking about 10 brands. But, if you count that some of these brands are for men and women, then you get a total of almost 10 of the best cowboy boot brands, so that works in my opinion. What really matters is that I think those are the best brands out there and I didn’t want to waste your time with some lesser boots. The Best Cowboy Boot Reviews Here all in one place! If that’s what you are going for, shop for some boots on Amazon or some other site that that just throws some boots on the screen and doesn’t give you any information on the brand or specifics about the boot itself. That’s no way to find your new favorite pair of cowboy boots.

There are certain things in life where it really doesn’t matter who makes a certain item that you may buy at say the grocery store or Target, Wal mart, etc… The item may only be a couple bucks or something simplistic, so you really aren’t concerned about the quality like you would be on say a new car. Now saying that, you also have to be careful when buying a product just because of it’s name. There are a lot of companies that have done a great job in their marketing efforts and their name is very popular and they charge big bucks for that name. That is okay if it’s a great product, but I’m sure you can think of a couple right off the top of your head where maybe their product isn’t as good as they would have you think.

There’s two ways you can look at it when buying a pair of boots. You can buy something that’s cheap, from a brand that is just throwing boots out there that are low price, low quality, and really don’t care about you the individual or their boot for that matter. Or you can fork out a little more money and buy a pair of boots like the brands we mentioned above. Then you know what you are getting. You are getting a boot made from the upmost highest quality leathers. A boot with the best designers in the industry. A boot made by artisans with more experience than any other boot makers in the world. And last but not least, a boot where you can tell that the boot maker really put their heart and sole into each and every pair they make. Just because a pair of boots are expensive doesn’t mean you are getting a raw deal. I have written an article about it here and most of the time a more expensive pair of boots is cheaper in the long run! I’m telling you, buying from the best just isn’t about trying to look cool or flaunt your money, you actually save money in the long run!

When you get a pair of boots like that, it’s just not a piece of footwear, its something that you will be able to identify with for years to come. A Short Alligator Skin Boot With A Big Attitude

This is not a “whole” alligator boot in the traditional sense. When I mean “whole”, I mean the alligator part of this boot are some accents. Not the whole vamp like the last boot I talked about. The accents are only at the heel and toe of this boot, but they do look very very good! That’s the first unusual part of this boot.

The second is that its zippered. Yeah, I said it, it has a zipper. That’s typically not uncommon for an ankle boot though, and Stallion are the experts to making a boot like this. I do love these boots though. It has that cowboy boot look and you can wear it seamlessly underneath pretty much any type of jeans, slacks, pants, etc… I really don’t know what else is left that you would want to wear boots with, but with these ankle boots, you can wear them.

The third and final unusual thing about these boots are its use of horsehide. Yeah, that’s right. Believe it or not, horsehide are a by-product of the food processing industry. Just like cowhide, it has a use and it can be super expensive! Horsehide has a very limited supply, and as you guessed it, that drives up the price.

Alligator Has Been Around A Lot Longer Than I Thought

Yes, I know they are basically prehistoric and basically modern day dinosaurs, but that’s not what I’m talking about. I’ve watched my fair share of westerns and I don’t think I’ve every seen a pair of alligator anything in those shows or movies. For good reason though, most of those movies take place out west i.e. Texas, Oklahoma, California, etc… I’m pretty sure cows are the kind of materials out there followed by either goats, sheep, buffalo, etc… You just don’t see any western type movies taking place in Florida or Louisiana lol.

But if you do a little research, the use of alligator skin started in 1800 in North America. Boots, shoes, saddles, and other products were used for confederate troops in the civil war in 1855. Its commercial beginnings started in the 1900s with Louisiana being the biggest harvester of this magnificent leather.

Alligators went through a rough time in the early 1900s all the way into the 60s and was eventually banned statewide in Louisiana. Luckily by the year 1987, were taken off the endangered species list because of conservation efforts and their population is as strong as ever.

There’s A Reason Alligator Skin Boots Are So Popular

As I stated earlier, alligator has that unique look that everyone knows right when you see it. It usually has larger scales on it than say a caiman. It’s highly prized because alligator is so easy to work with compared to other lizards and has a super durable skin. Another great quality about alligator skin is its natural enamel sheen. The automatically makes it pleasing to the eye and why you see so many other products beside cowboy boots or any other kind of boot for that matter made from gator.

Real Elephant Skin Boots – Rare, Beautiful And Ethically Made

As you probably already know, cowboy boots come in many different styles, colors, toe types, heel type, etc… But one of the most talked about difference between boots is the leather they are made from. Alligator, buffalo, caiman, snake, the list goes on and on. You can categorize all of those boot materials as either exotic leathers or other leathers. The other leathers are usually calf, cowhide, goat, etc… I normally like to say that if it lives here in North America, it’s probably in the “other leather” category and if it’s overseas, it falls into the “exotic leather” category. I figured I would just start out with my favorite boot first. This boot basically is the wild west meets the plains of Africa or vice versa. I’m absolutely in love with the toe of the boot. It’s the new “TK” toe and it’s a new style that is in between a snip toe boot and a square toe boot. The best of both worlds in my opinion.

I absolutely love these boots because because of the square cutter toe. These are a beautiful pair of boots made from some very tough and durable elephant skin that is ethically harvested. That is very important to me and I don’t want something that was obtained by poachers or something. These boots are amazing with a great story behind them.

These boots are also a combination of beautiful elephant skin and calfskin. The skin is a beautiful rich chocolate color and goes beautifully with the chocolate quarters of the calfskin shafts. Once again this is another pair of the highest quality western boots from Rios of Mercedes. You definitely won’t be disappointed.

The Argument For Or Against

If you are like me, one of the first things you might be thinking of when you hear the words “elephant skin” in conjunction with a pair of boots or any other products is “How is that possible?”. Unlike ivory, elephant skin doesn’t have much regulation on it. Just about anyone can buy and sell elephant leather as long as they adhere to the very lax regulations of the Convention of International Treaty of Endangered Species. It’s seriously a major loophole that people can easily get away with considering it allows you to buy or sell one part of an animal, but not another.

There are two sides to this story though. Ivory is downright illegal no matter what. There is no legal way to harvest it. Ivory is only obtained by poachers and buying or selling of ivory is illegal. Elephant leather on the other hand must be purchased only from sellers coming from legally culled (selectively slaughtered) elephants. I hated to use the word “slaughtered”, but I wanted to use the correct definition of the word.

Animals being “culled” isn’t something new. It happens all over the world and is even a common practice in the United States. A very common example of that is the deer population. A lot of times special seasons are created if the population becomes too dense and limits are adjusted for the same reason. I know of a similar instance for black bears down where I live in Florida. It’s basically a way of population control. This same practice goes for elephants also when the population becomes too large for a particular area and poses a threat to other wildlife or humans.

You will hear arguments either way for elephant skin products, so therefore I ask you to maybe do a little research and make an informed decision. You as a buyer may not know if the product you are purchasing is coming from a legitimately taken animal and this can cause some concern. Luckily I’m listing some great boots by Rios of Mercedes boot company that are sold by Pinto Ranch and all boots made from these majestic animals are legally and ethically obtained to the best of my knowledge.

Elephant, Not Many To Choose From

There aren’t that many pairs or styles of elephant skin boots to choose from. I would say that is definitely a sign that you know it’s exotic, but it’s the truth. From Pinto Ranch, you only have four pairs for men’s cowboy boots and I’m sorry to say, zero for ladies cowgirl boots.

On one train of thought I would say maybe this is a good thing because of the plight of elephants throughout the world. On another hand I would say too bad since these are some beautiful boots! Once again I cannot stress enough that the boots we are talking about here are from the legendary boot makers of Rios of Mercedes sold at Pinto Ranch. I cannot in good faith talk about other brands because I do not know how their elephant skin is obtained.

There might only be four men’s boots offered here, but they all have reviews and they are all 5 stars. These are some great boots that have the Rios of Mercedes name standing behind them. That means they are superbly made by the finest materials from the top of the shaft to the tip of the toe. The also are super comfortable and as every pair of boots designed by Rios, they look fabulous!

An Exotic Skin Boot That May Not Be Around Forever

I didn’t want to sound all doom and gloom here, but this may be the case for real elephant skin boots. The reason that this may true may be a good thing. Maybe there will be some tougher regulations out there to help protect these magnificent animals. I do get the whole idea about some elephants being legally culled, that is why I’m not totally against this leather being used. I definitely would like to see authorities cracking down on people illegally taking these animals and would also love to see more land being protected so elephants can increase in numbers naturally.

As I stated, do a little research if you are uncomfortable in a certain product. That stand for any kind of product be it cowboy boots or a leather jacket. A informed consumer is the best consumer in my opinion and I hope you feel the same.

Time to do things just a little differently. After checking them out, I found that the boot company was named by the founder of the company after the race horse Secretariat that won the Triple Crown in 1973. The founder grew up on a horse farm in Pennsylvania and is obviously a huge horse race fan if not just a HUGE horse lover.

I had to ask, but it’s really not much of a question if you ask me. The price might be ridiculous to some (I’m one of them), but I could pretty much say that about most products out there. Cowboy Boots And Jeans – Is There Anything Better?

Cowboy boots are as American as apple pie. They definitely are a fashion statement unlike no other. Everyone from ranch hands, movie stars, country music singers and rock stars and even presidents and former governor / movie star Arnold Schwarzenegger (Huge fan of cowboy boots) sport them on air or just around town. These people wear them because they have a classic or distinctive look. Cowboy boots have a rugged quality that gives you a look that just not everyone can attain wearing any other kind of footwear. It doesn’t matter if you’re a man or a woman, no matter what you wear, a pair of cowboy boots are going to be a stylish addition to your wardrobe that look great and can stand on their own.

Now there are plenty of dressy styles of cowboy boots. There are also a bunch of different toe types featured with cowboy boots that can give your whole outfit a competently different look. Not to mention different leathers like alligator, ostrich, buffalo, etc… and they could be worn with a pair of dress pants or corduroys, That’s not a problem. I figured it was about time to talk about cowboy boots and jeans since they go together like peanut butter and chocolate. Sorry, I’m a little partial to Reese’s peanut butter cups. Normally I stick to the topic at hand when it comes to boots. I say what I like about them, or don’t like if something is wrong, but I really never mention any complimentary items (for better lack of words) that help give cowboy boots that special distinctive look that we all know and love.

Just Our Opinion, But Some Basic Rules For Jeans

When wearing a cowboy boots with your favorite pair of jeans, men should choose a style of jeans that allow them to fit over the boot comfortably. Find out a little more about cowboy boots being comfortable here. Guys should also stay away from “skinny jeans” since you will have a problem getting the leg over the shaft of the boot. We talk about that in another article “What kind of pants go with cowboy boots“. Women can do the same as the guys, but the more popular style is for a woman to wear tapered jeans that tuck into their boots but ladies, you also look great wearing a dress with cowboy boots, something most guys can’t and shouldn’t try to pull off in my opinion lol.

As I said above that this is basically an opinion, but in my opinion cowboy boots should not be worn with baggy cut jeans. Even straight cut jeans they don’t look right sometimes. To be completely honest, I don’t even think they look right in overalls. It’s just not a good look unless you’re 70 years old and it’s not even a good look then, but hey, at 70 I bet you really don’t care.

Now the brand name of the jeans isn’t that big of a deal, but you know the first name to be thrown out there is gonna be Wranglers. I mean that’s a given. I do believe that Wranglers call them “cowboy cut” and not boot cut though if you are looking. I do love my Levi’s and if you have a pair that are boot cut, that is completely acceptable in my opinion. Pretty much any type of boot cut jean, high end or low end is fine, I just don’t really wear any jeans unless they are Levis or Wranglers.

After all that being said, you might not want to wear your jeans on the outside of these men’s college themed cowboy boots and there are even some ladies college logo boots also. That’s just my thinking here because the name of the college is on the upper shaft.

What Color Jeans Go Best?

The color of your jeans has to be an important factor when it comes to wearing a pair of boots. These days you can get jeans in every color imaginable. There’s also all the faded styles, holes, super dark jeans, red, blue, etc… etc… Since I’m a little vanilla when it comes to the style of jeans I wear, I usually just stick with the classic style washes and color. Basically a medium or dark was jean is perfect in my opinion. I’m not a big fan of the super light colored jeans, but if that is what I was gonna wear, my cowboy boots would be a lighter color also. I really think that would make the boots and jeans compliment each other just perfectly.

I might be a little outdated when it comes to the lightness of the jeans, especially these days. Anymore on TV like the country music entertainment awards, I see so many different styles of clothes and types of jeans being worn with cowboy boots, it’s getting a little crazy. I will say this, the clothes for a lot of these country singers are getting crazy, but they are all still wearing cowboy boots.

This was actually pretty short and sweet and to the point. Remember what I said, there isn’t any die hard rules to wearing cowboy boots (color or summer / winter) with a pair of jeans. I’m just any ordinary dude with an opinion. We know you can wear them with just about anything, but there are some types of jeans that just look better when wearing a pair of boots. You probably never thought about it, but a man named Charles Hyer is credited with the creation of the American Made Cowboy Boots. People ask two main questions about cowboy boots all the time. One is why are cowboy boots so pointed? Another is why do they have such big heels? Well a Colorado cowboy was passing through Kansas City and stopped in Charle’s shop and wanted a new pair of boots. He wasn’t liking his civil war style boots very much. He wanted a toe that was pointed so it could slide easy into the stirrup and he also requested a slanted heel that would hold better while in the stirrup as well.

With those requests, American made cowboy boots were born. The cowboy was so happy with his new boots, he spread the word when he got home and the Hyer boot company started supplying their newly founded cowboy boots to cattlemen, rodeo performers, and movie stars.
