As a Marine Corps veteran, I’ve got a soft spot for anything that shows a little love for this country, and that includes boots. A good pair of American flag cowboy boots is a fun way to wear your pride, whether it’s the Fourth of July, a rodeo, a country concert or just a Tuesday.
My go-to recommendation for flag boots is Durango. They’re a well-known Western brand (part of Rocky Brands, the same family as Rocky and Georgia Boot), they make flag boots for men, women and kids, and the prices won’t break the bank. Here’s what I’d look at.
Why I Point People to Durango for Flag Boots
- Lots of choices: classic stars-and-stripes, distressed vintage flags, embroidered flags, state flags like Texas and Florida, and even a Mexican flag boot.
- Fair prices: most adult flag boots run about $140 to $200, and kids’ pairs are less.
- Built for comfort: leather feet, cushioned insoles and rubber outsoles, so you can wear them all day instead of just for photos.
- Sizes for everybody: men’s, women’s and kids’ styles, with wide widths available in a lot of the men’s boots.

The American Flag Boots I’d Check Out First
Durango Rebel America 250 Flag Western Boot
With America turning 250 this year, Durango put out a special flag boot to celebrate, and I think it’s one of the best-looking ones they’ve made. The Rebel America 250 Flag Western Boot runs about $199, and there’s a women’s version too, the Lady Rebel America 250 at about $190.
Durango Rebel Patriotic Pull-On Western Flag Boot
This is the classic. The Rebel Patriotic Pull-On Flag Boot has a leather foot and a bold stars-and-stripes shaft, and it runs about $165. If you just want one great flag boot, start here.
Lady Rebel Patriotic Women’s Flag Boot
Ladies, the Lady Rebel Patriotic Flag Boot is the women’s version of that classic, also about $165. It looks great with jeans or a sundress.

Durango Workin’ Rebel Patriotic Steel Toe Work Boot
If you work in boots all day, this is a fun one. The Workin’ Rebel Patriotic Steel Toe gives you a steel toe for the job site with the flag on the shaft, for about $175. I spent enough years in work boots and combat boots to appreciate one that’s tough and still has some personality.

Lil’ Rebel Kids’ Patriotic Western Boot
Want the kids to match? The Lil’ Rebel Kids’ Patriotic Boot runs about $82, which is a fair price for boots they’ll outgrow in a year.
You can see Durango’s full lineup of patriotic flag boots here. If you want to rep your home state instead, I wrote about their state flag boots too.
A Few Tips Before You Buy
- Get the fit right. A cowboy boot should feel snug across the top of your foot, with a little heel slip at first. My cowboy boot fit guide walks you through it.
- Check the width. If you’ve got a wider foot, look for EE sizing, which Durango offers in a lot of its men’s styles.
- Pick your flag style. Bright red, white and blue really pops at a concert or parade. A distressed or vintage flag is easier to wear every day.
- Take care of them. Wipe them down after a dusty day and condition the leather now and then, and they’ll look good for years.
Are American Flag Cowboy Boots Worth It?
If you love this country and like your boots with a little personality, absolutely. Durango’s flag boots aren’t handmade exotics, and they’re not trying to be. They’re comfortable, fun, fairly priced boots that let you wear your pride on your feet. For under $200, that’s a pretty good deal.
My Final Thoughts
Whether you’re celebrating America’s 250th, heading to a Fourth of July cookout or just want to show a little red, white and blue, a pair of flag boots is a great way to do it. Start with the Rebel America 250 if you want something special for this year, or the Rebel Patriotic Pull-On if you want the classic. Wear them proud.
