I’ve been waiting to do this for awhile. So many different styles and types of boots, this particular brand was new to me just up to about a year ago. It’s not a new boot, it was just new to me. Today I want to do a Rios Of Mercedes Boot Review and give you the info on where to get them and what they have to offer!
The reason I wanted to talk to you about them is because I think Rios Of Mercedes is the hidden gem of the cowboy boot world. They’ve been around for a long time, but you just don’t hear about them as much and I think I know why. When you think of cowboy boots, and I’m talking about quality handmade cowboy boots, the first names to come to mind are Tony Lama or Lucchese, Old Gringo for the ladies’ along with the previous mentioned boot makers. I think one of the biggest reasons for this is advertising. Some of these guys’ spend the money to get their name out there. I mean look at Tecovas or Ariat, those are cookie cutter boots in my opinion that spend a ton of money to flood the online boot market with their name. Just to let you know, they aren’t in the same league if you ask me. Tecovas is a decent boot and claims to be handcrafted, but Rios Of Mercedes is definitely in a higher league. Below I’m gonna give review Rios Of Mercedes men’s and women’s boots.
Rios Of Mercedes Boots – Truly A Handmade Cowboy Boot!
I really didn’t want to do a review and just talk about 1 or 2 pairs of boots. That is kind of unfair to you. Why do ask? Well for one thing, I’m not a big fan of reviews when it comes down to pinpointing 1 particular item for a brand for a lot of different products or services. Don’t get me wrong, you can get some good info, but most of the time it just comes down to personal taste. I mean I don’t know how many times I’ve been to a movie that had received a great review and I hated it or vice versa. It’s the same with clothing, cars, food, etc… it all comes down to your personal taste. So in this review, I’m going to talk about some key features, history, cost, and give you the exact location to really look at these boots and get boot specific information that will help you pick out a great pair of Rios Of Mercedes boots. This way you will be able to see a wide variety of some finest handmade boots out there all in one place.
Let’s get started.
Men’s Rios Of Mercedes Cowboy Boots What You Need To Know
Okay guys’, let’s get into our review on some Rios boots. Okay, the place I like to check out all my boot needs is Pinto Ranch, so there will be a link here to see all their handmade boots. First off, let’s not beat around the bush, let’s talk about price. Pinto has a total of 32 pairs of boots by Rios Of Mercedes and of course the range of price varies drastically.
Sizes 8-13 are offered and there are (4) Ropers (4) Round Toe (12) Snip toe and (12) Square Toe pairs of Rios Of Mercedes boots. Now you know why I didn’t want to talk about 1 or 2 particular boots since there is such a wide variety.
The cheapest boot I found was on sale
for $393.75 (Originally $525). That is a really good price for a handcrafted boot by arguably one of the finest boot makers in Texas. The boot I’m talking about is a pretty basic rust colored boot made from goat leather. At the time of this article, there are 3 different pairs of boots on sale that are under $400. The goat boots I mentioned, one leather, and one ostrich pair. I was really surprised to see a pair of ostrich ropers for under $400. That is absolutely crazy for a pair of exotic leather cowboy boots made by a company like Rios Of Mercedes.
Reviewing The Most Expensive Men’s Boots From Rios
I came across several pairs (5 in total) in the $895 range. To be fair, there were also some in the $995 range but were on sale for $795. I’m definitely not gonna complain about $200 off the retail price. There were about 4 pairs of boots that were on sale at that price point.
Between the cheapest pair and the most expensive pairs, there were several pairs in between. Several of these were also on sale and you could save a couple hundred dollars. I’ve been using Pinot Ranch for a couple of years now. I know they often have several pairs of boots on sale for all the brands they offered, but I’ve never seen this many on sale. I really don’t know if something special is going on or what. You might just want to get over there and check it out.
Plenty Of Leathers To Choose From For Both Guys And Gals
I wanted to talk about the different types of leathers offered for both men and women’s boots all in one since they use the same leather for either guys’ or gals boots. The ladies’ don’t get as many choices and I’m sorry for that, but it’s not really my decision. I really think the guys’ are more into the exotic leathers than the girls and are willing to pay up for it. That’s not Rios Of Mercedes saying that, that is just my opinion. After this, I will talk about price points for Rios Of Mercedes ladies’ boots below. For the guys’, you can get 11 different leathers in Rios Of Mercedes handmade boots.
Leathers offered in men’s boots: (Each leather is clickable & will take you to see those boots)
- Caiman (type of crocodile from South America)
- Carpincho (Those big Guinea Pig looking animals from South America)
Leathers offered in women’s boots:
What ever you are looking for or whatever leather you are interested in, you are only gonna get the best from Rios Of Mercedes. All leathers are graded. It doesn’t matter if it’s exotic or regular calf skin. Rios only uses the best leathers for their boots. That only makes sense, since they have some best boot makers out there. You wouldn’t give a world-class chef inferior ingredients right? Rios Of Mercedes does the same thing. They give the highest quality leathers to their world-class boot makers and the end result is a world-class boot!
Rios Of Mercedes Women’s Boots, The Least Expensive First
What would a Rios Of Mercedes boot review be without talking about some women’s boots. There are a total of 10 pairs of boots offered and as I mentioned above, they come in 5 different leathers. At the time of this article, 8 pairs of boots are on sale. That is crazy! makes me wish I had smaller feet! The least expensive pair is $399 and there are 4 pairs where the highest price of those 4 were originally $695. That’s almost $300 off the retail price and that’s definitely better than the guys’ boots. These boots range from goat, ostrich, and a pair of suede boots. You really can’t beat this price for top quality handmade cowboy boots.
Sizes 5 1/2 -10 are offered in the ladies’ boots and there are (3) Round Toe and (7) Snip toe pairs of Rios Of Mercedes boots women’s boots. You also have 4 different heel types to choose from and heel height ranging from 1 1/2 inches to 4 1/2 inches.
Reviewing The Most Expensive Women’s Boots From Rios Of Mercedes
The most expensive boots for the ladies’ are $595. In the handmade boot world, that is pretty good. There are 2 pairs and one is leather and one is buffalo. Both have 5 star reviews and both are absolutely exquisite. You really need to check them out. If you want to get technical, the most expensive boots are almost $700, but they are 3 pairs that are on sale and they range from leather to ostrich, black, brown and a caramel color. Once again I have to say, this is why I didn’t want to do a review of just a couple boots. There are way to many options and personal taste dictates what pair you really like. You really need to click one of the images or one of the links above for the different types of leathers and check out these boots. The best Rios Of Mercedes boot review is the one you are gonna do yourself and all you need to do is look at these boots and you are gonna fall in love with one of them.
Rios of Mercedes Is A Superior Boot With A Superior Fit
Cowboy boots made by Rios of Mercedes have a fit like no other in my opinion. They have been called “gloves for your feet!”. These are boots made with all natural materials and won’t slip or slide like boots made with synthetic materials often do. The leather in all Rios of Mercedes boots are cut using a process so that it stretches from side to side over the ball of the foot. Using this technique and with all-leather construction, Rios boots practically mold to your feet which holds them in place with every step.
Rios uses premium hides for 3 simple but effective reasons:
- Boots that look better
- They will stand up to your demands
Cuts of the leather are important for a proper fitting boot. All Rios hides are situated so that each cut is made across the width of the hide instead of the length. By doing this, it allows the natural fibers to move how they were intended to move. Once the hide is cut, the life cycle of your boot basically begins. Each boot is then hand-stitched, hand-lasted, hand-pegged and then hand-finished. The end result is a beautiful handmade cowboy boot that fits like a glove. All this time and energy with each pair of Rios of Mercedes boots is done because excellence is their standard. They want you to have the perfect fit which leads to the perfect pair of boots.
Talking About Rios Boots, We Could Go On All Day
Seriously, we could go on all day, but what good would that do? Rios Of Mercedes has been making boots since 1853. There is a reason for this. People, companies, etc… don’t stay in business very long putting out a bad product. The same goes for a company that makes handmade cowboy boots. These boots are made exclusively for Pinto Ranch and you really need to go there and see for yourself. You aren’t going to find them anywhere else. While your there, it wouldn’t hurt to check out their Resistol cowboy hats or other great articles of western wear. They literally have just about everything!
What do I think of the price? When doing a boot review, that is one of the first things I like to focus in on. I mean, that is usually the first thing I look for when I’m shopping for anything and I think that is how most people think as well. It’s not that I buy the cheapest, I just like to get the most for my money. That doesn’t mean quantity, that also means quality. With Rios Of Mercedes, you are getting quality, there isn’t any argument there. If I were to guy a pair of boots for a hundred dollars, I really wouldn’t be surprised if they lasted for 6 months or a year. That really wouldn’t upset me because I know that you get what you pay for. If I were to get a pair from Rios Of Mercedes I would know and expect them to last 10 years easy. Even longer than that. Their name is synonymous with quality and you get what you pay for. Check them out and be sure when you go to the Pinto Ranch site, read some reviews given by customers. They are eye-openers for sure.
