I don’t think you will find more loyal or dedicated sports fans than your garden variety College sports fans that are religiously loyal to their favorite NCAA team! Hats, gloves, t-shirts, shorts, mugs, flags, the list goes on and on. When football season rolls around, you have a good chance of seeing almost anything with a teams’ logo on it. I mean, there hasn’t been too many things wearing a college logo that has surprised me. Pets, tattoos, paint jobs on houses or vehicles, and the hits just keep on rolling. Then I came upon a pair of college logo cowboy boots. I must say, it definitely got my attention.
I don’t know why I would have ever thought there couldn’t be team cowboy boots. I’ve already stated above that you see it on everything, but I was actually surprised. Sitting here typing this, I’m actually trying to wonder what I would think about this if I hadn’t actually seen a picture or held a pair of these boots in my hand. Gaudy, ridiculous, come to mind or maybe I said “are you kidding me?”. I’m not a flashy person and I really don’t like that much attention, so I actually think that’s what I would have thought. I guess I will never know, because I physically saw a pair of these handcrafted beauties and I fell in love.
I ran across these beauties on a site that sells everything sports. NFL, College, NBA, MLB, etc… I was on there looking for a t-shirt and all of a sudden, BOOM, a pair of handcrafted Texas Longhorns cowboy boots passed in front of my face. Well, it got me hooked. I browsed the site and took in every college team’s cowboy boot I could find on there. Let me tell you some things that I discovered about these boots. First off, they don’t have every team. I really think that would be really hard to do. Seems most of the teams’ they offer are western teams’ and southern based teams’ (i.e. Oklahoma, Texas, Alabama, Kentucky, Wyoming, etc…). Secondly, they have a very limited supply on a lot of these boots. It might be hard to find your size. Something else I noticed is the boots seem to come in three different styles:
- Embroidered Original – The embroidery is all over the boot including the top of the boot or vamp.
- Embroidered Boardroom – Most of the design work is on the upper part or shaft of the boot.
- Rounded Pointed Toe or a Snip Square Toe
These options aren’t something you can select from a drop down menu or something when you find your teams’ boot. For example, If you find a boot for Texas A&M and it has a rounded toe and not a snip square toe, you can’t change it right on that page. You have to go back through the boots and find that particular one. Make sure you have the correct embroidery that you like (Original or Boardroom). They do have college team boots for men and women, so don’t worry about that. When on their page, it will say “women’s” in the name of the boot if it’s for women. If it’s a men’s cowboy boot, it won’t say anything. If you don’t find your boot here (there is a link on each and every picture on this page), you can browse Fans Edge and they may or may not have your team. As I said, they don’t have some teams’ and they don’t have every size. I’m sure demand has something to do with that and there is more demand for some teams’ more so than others.
I guess you will have to decide which one is the right one for you. On a personal not, I prefer the Boardroom embroidery. As I said, I’m not that flashy. That’s just me. If you are thinking about these as a gift, you’re just gonna have to figure it out.
