Stepping Up To The Plate

Hi, I’m Eric W. with wehearthandmadeboots.com and there is a new movement going on here in the Americas, the rise of women in the blue collar work place. The day has come and gone where women were expected to stay home and take care of the kids or to work in a high rise being someone’s secretary. Women are now in the work force at the top levels in both the white collar and blue collar industries. At both of these levels, there are different aspects of the job that you have to take into consideration. When it comes to the modern day blue collar woman, the skills needed for this degree of labor require a greater use of the hands and require you to be on your feet a greater portion of the day. There is a need for a boot that can not only protect the feet but also to provide comfort. Whether you have entered to work force as an electrician, plumber, carpenter, or whatever, you need a pair of boots’ you can count on. Since a women’s needs match those of their male counterparts, they need a work boot that can last and is just as durable. High-rise apartments, factories, plumbing, automobiles, etc… all of these things have one thing in common. They require the skilled hands and feet of a person that can construct and maintain these things. With the advent of women entering these fields of skilled trades, it would make sense to have an excellently crafted women’s boot to go with them. Women have definitely stepped up to the plate and answered the call to the blue collar workforce.

Men and Women on Job Site Wearing Work Boots

Just as there is a work boot for men, there are also great work boots’ for women we have put together some great brands and styles for you as well. Just as injuries or hazards don’t discriminate, neither should a good work boot. John Deere women’s work boots’, for example, have made themselves well-known and will allow the working woman to protect her feet and endure the workload of a long day’s work. Each of them are built with genuine leather to keep the boots’ lasting longer, tempered steel shanks for comfort and arch support, Goodyear construction, and steel toes for foot protection. These boots’ are made with the polyurethane high-abrasion out sole, fancy talk for heavy protection and support, but a lighter wearing boot.

There are, as you would expect, an abundance of various styles from various brands of women’s work boots’ and I found a few that stood out amongst the crowd. In this post, I’m going to share a few and give my take on them to give you a better idea on what to expect from these boots’. In my opinion, there are three things you want in a work boot (in no certain order). Comfort, protection, and style. Below I have put together a list of women’s work boots’ that I feel meet these criteria.

Love the topic just two days ago we saw a couple of women working on the side of the road with pink hi viz and now you are showing stylish work boots for women. I am a blue collar worker and boots are the most important thing that i have for work but my boots are not as nice as the John Deer Jo Beth boots those things are sweet, Do they have a style like that for men? I also think it is great that women are working more in all industries, i know from where we work, we have had an influx of women workers over the last couple of years and overall it has been very positive. They not only out work some of the guys, they also have great attention to detail and change the conversations at the work place. I also think we should all look a little more stylish on the job site so nice choice on some of the different  boots you have shown on your web site, also great read with a few little jokes put in good job mate.

I am a female Mechanical Engineer and although I don’t hold a blue collared job right now, when I was with a blue collared job, the work boots were a huge factor to my comfort, work speed and general mobility.

Of all the boots you sampled, I love the Carolina Womens Work Comp Toe Boot more, because it looks sturdy and fashionable. That’s how I like my work boots.
